Golfing in style: Choose the right attire for your game

Golf is a sport best played with the proper attire on top of a good swing and masterful strokes. While there are no hard-set rules on what to wear while on the fairways, it helps to know the kind of clothes that provide the most comfort and unhindered movement to elevate your game. It also doesn’t hurt to add some style with function to get you some admiring looks in golf courses in Ogden, Utah.As you prepare your outfit for a day of golf in any of the expansive Utah golf courses like the one inWolf Creek Resort in Eden, get some tips here:

Shoes/Footwear

There are shoes meant for a specific sport, and the same applies to golf. These types of footwear are meant to get you by the long walks and the sudden foot twists while putting.Shoes with metal spikes have been rendered obsolete. Soft-spike golf shoes are better options. If you’re just playing a casual round, your trainers or trusty sneakers will do. But flip-flops and heels are definite no-nos.

Socks

Most golf clubs will welcome your average sports socks. Avoid wearing thick or mid-calf socks. Ankle, trainer, and long socks are fine, for as long as you wear a pair to go with your golf shoes.

Shorts

Shorts can be worn on the greens, as long as the hems touch your knees. However, your best bet would still be golf trousers. These are designed for comfort and breathability since golf is a sport that requires a lot of walking. Golf skirts for women are generally accepted as long as the length is still modest or below the knee.

Shirts

Every golfer should have a staple golf shirt in their wardrobe. It doesn’t need to be branded or fancy, but it has to be collared. Golf shirts are also longer than your usual polo shirt to ensure that these aretucked in at all times, even when playing. Full-sleeved shirts are allowed, but thesemay not be comfortable when golfing. Women can wear sleeved blouses or collared sleeveless blouses. Avoid any top with splashy and/or loud prints.

Jackets

Theavid golfer will not be deterred by changes in the weather. This is why you need to invest in a waterproof jacket that should appear neat and body-hugging. Avoid bulky sports jackets, shawls, and denim jackets.

Caps/hats

While it’s not a requirement, wearing golf hats ispractical. You’ll be playing under the sun for hours so you’ll need protection from harmful UV rays. Visors are acceptable, as well as your favorite baseball caps.

Belts

Wearing your trousers with a belt makes your whole look cohesive and neat. However, this is not a requirement amongmost clubs.

Sunglasses

Just like hats, wearing sunglasses is necessary to protect your eyes from the scorching rays of the sun. Ensure that these are modestly-styled and tailored for sports use.
